Brenda G.'s Question

Since most of our teaching utilizes "visual learning," would podcasting become a powerful way to utilize the auditory learning for our students?

  1. I think anytime teachers can provide opportunities for students to experience learning through various modalities, students will be more engaged. You may also consider checking out this 5th grade Great Depression project where the students used VoiceThread to post the auditory files of them reciting their original poetry.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on this project.

  2. A couple misconceptions about podcasting are that
    a. you can only do it through an iPod/iTunes
    b. it's only audio

It's possible to have video podcasts. Like Kathy said, as long as you're getting the students engaged, the medium doesn't matter so much.
