Kathy James has a Question

Hi,
I teach elementary music. I see every class in the school once a week for 40 minutes. I am somewhat at a loss to know how to proceed bringing this into my classroom. I know you have said - baby steps. So, I should probably start with just one class at one grade level. I would like to connect with a music teacher who has experience going global so that I can learn along with my students. Do you have any ideas on how I should begin finding that person?

  1. Do you know Lisa Langston? She is incorporating tech in her music lessons, however I am not sure if she is using any of the tools we discussed.

  2. Hi Kathy,
Good question. I am imagining how students could Skype or blog with musicians, singers and song writers. Or what if students record their own podcasts of their performances and post them on your website for others to listen to and respond.

Can only imagine what your students will be experiencing next year!

  3. They could also podcast or Skype with other classes to discuss/demonstrate the different music and instruments that are part of their culture.
