MJ's Question

I would like to know the steps in order to make this happen in my room.

  1. The process will completely depend on your goals and objectives. Think back to projects you have done in the past that did not include technology, and see if one of the tools discussed today would revolutionize the learning for the students. Basically, a good lesson plan is a good lesson plan, the technology is simply a tool within our lesson.

  2. I agree with Mrs. McGrath, and to add to that I think once you decide what you want your students to understand, you will also want to determine what time of collaboration you are wanting your students to do. Then you can determine the tool to allow it to happen. You will be experiencing this process on Friday. Have fun!

  3. Mary,

Like Janine said, it all starts with the idea. For Lightning Thief, I wanted a way for students to discuss the book and to talk to the author. I figured a blog would be the best tool for that, and then I experimented with setting everything up.

I won't lie when I say the initial set up takes a bit of time and effort. But once it gets rolling, you just step back and watch the magic happen!
