Laura's Question

My main question would be about security issues with the students using in Internet tools like skype and pod casts etc. Has anyone who has used these tools had a parent Not want their child to participate and if so, what does that child do while the rest of the class is doing the project etc.?

  1. I have never had an issue with parent permission, these are generally the only forms I get back quickly. Not all the groups will finish at the same time, so generally students are independently working on their projects. Recording of podcasts can be done during silent reading. My students are really great when I call "all quiet on the set!" Some made signs for my door.

  2. I work nationally with MANY schools - and very few parents want to wall their kids into the small spaces of classrooms! they are very aware that their kids will be living in a very big world and need to be prepared
